Our Organization

The Wellesley Community Center was the brainchild of the Wellesley Jaycees back in the early seventies. They decided, as civic leaders, to establish the existence of a community center that would support a true social services campus. The charter of the Wellesley Community Center is to provide a common platform for all types of social and civic events. A consortium of private banks put together the funding, which was privately raised for the project. In 1977, the Grignaffini Contruction Company successfully completed the design build project and our doors opened to the public. Over the last four decades we have been entirely self supporting and look forward towards a very exciting future.
